About Us

Biographical/Historical: The Clearbrook Woolen Mill was also known as Pine Grove Woolen Factory and the Brucetown Factory Woolen Mill. It was an urban factory in Clear Brook, VA that had been moved from Brucetown, VA as a result of two fires in 1895 and 1896. It had been a rural woolen mill in Brucetown since the 1770s, making it the oldest woolen mill in Frederick County, VA. Clearbrook Woolen Mill is important because it survived three power system changes: vertical water wheel, turbine, and electric.

The building has undergone renovation and safety upgrades, while trying to preserve much of the old vintage feel and look. Current owners have restored the abandoned building preserving the old aesthetical touch of the historical site.

Overlooking the beautiful lake in the Clear Brook park, this building is now home to the Woolen Mills Grill, an American Diner, Grill and Sports Bar all in one place. With seating capacity of approximately 60 persons at the Restaurant and an additional 20 at the bar plus additional seating on our beautiful patio.
